HISTORY
From 1976 to the present...
On August 1, 1976, Setaş AŞ, one of the leading manufacturers of chipboard and plywood in the forestry products sector, began its operations in the town of Simav in Kütahya, with the inauguration ribbon being cut by the then Prime Minister Süleyman Demirel. The establishment of the factory was not only supported by Setaş, a publicly traded company, but also by significant contributions from the local community of Simav.
For many years, the factory produced domestically made chipboard and plywood that met European standards, contributing as complementary products to the furniture and construction sectors in Turkey, serving the industry for many years.
However, with the advent of evolving technologies and the entry of new high-capacity factories into the market, the decision was made to suspend chipboard production.
In 2020, as part of Koyuncuoğlu Group of Companies, the factory was leased from "Setaş A.Ş." owned 80% by the Koyuncuoğlu family. The group ventured into this important sector by modernizing the OSB, plywood, lumber, and pallet production lines with state-of-the-art machinery.
In addition to undertaking the maintenance and repairs of existing machinery, Koyuncuoğlu Group of Companies has also added numerous domestic and foreign machinery and equipment to the factory, introducing domestic and national brands such as SETBOARD, SETPLY, SETTIMBER, and SETPALLET to our country in accordance with European standards, thus contributing to the production of sought-after products like OSB, plywood, lumber, and pallets in today's market. Koyuncuoğlu Integrated Wood Industry continues its partnership with pioneers in this sector such as Kadant, Dieffenbacher, Steinman, and many domestic and foreign machinery manufacturers.
